Buckie was filled with festive cheer this weekend as its popular Christmas light switch-on returned.
The 10th annual Buckie Christmas Kracker brought the crowds out in force.
Children and families enjoyed a fun-filled day of amusement at Cluny Square before lining the streets to see the town’s Christmas lights come to life.
This year’s extravaganza marked a return to normality following the Covid pandemic.
Spectators relished in the return of the event’s signature parade, which was cancelled last year due to rising Covid cases.
The six-hour programme of entertainment kicked off with Moray Concert Brass, Brogan Ferguson and the Alison Munro School of Dance taking to the main stage.
Musicians, dance groups and Buckie and District Pipe band took it in turns to entertain the crowds in the lead up to the event’s signature Christmas lights switch on.
Elsewhere, participants geared up for Santa’s fun run and fun dog show ahead of the main parade, which was led by the town’s pipe band.
Fairground rides and stalls lined the square, and proved popular with visitors.
The event was brought to a close with the grand unveiling of the town’s Christmas lights followed by a spell bounding fireworks display.
Attendees took to social media to commend the organising committee.
Catherine Mahon travelled 162 miles from Thurso to be there.
She wrote: “What an absolutely fantastic Christmas Kracker. Well worth the trip down from Thurso.”
