Welcome to our regular look at the latest planning applications in Moray.
Officials have approved changes to a Burghead home.
Plans have been lodged to transform a former fisherman’s store into a retirement home in the village of Findhorn.
Planning permission is sought to build two storage buildings near a vehicle parts shop.
More details on each of these applications below.
SUBMITTED: Disused Findhorn fisherman’s store into home
A former fisherman’s store could be turned into a retirement home.
During the 19th century, fishing was the main industry for Findhorn.
Since then, it has declined, and the village is primarily a commuter village and tourist destination.
Now Findhorn Inshore Lifeboat rescue board member Dave Brands is seeking planning permission. He wants a change of use and extension to the former fishing store and workshop at 43c Findhorn.
Mr Brands family has owned the building for many years, and it is hoped it can be used as a home.
The stone-built part of the building is used currently for storage by the owner.
The building in question is not listed but is within the Findhorn Conservation Area.
In the papers, the applicant feels the proposed retirement house fits in well with the overall character of the area and helps creates a sense of place.
SUBMITTED: Storage buildings near Fochabers
Colin Murray Development Limited is looking to erect two new storage sheds near a scrap yard.
The new buildings are proposed at the Spey Bay Auto-Salvage at Nether Dallachy near Fochabers.
Council officials found no evidence of fill material or contamination after visiting the site.
Grant and Geoghegan Limited are representing the firm in the application.
APPROVED: Major work at Burghead home
Changes will be made to a Burghead home.
The approved plans will take place at Culbin View Coastguards Cottage, 3 Grant Street.
New windows and doors will be installed at the property.
Meanwhile, a wood burning stove will replace the current coal fire.
Also, there will be a new shower room.
Plans Plus represented Helen Green in the application.
