Police shut the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road between Elgin and Forres at around 11.10pm. Officers are now waiting for BEAR Scotland teams to arrive at the scene, to clear the road. It is understood a police car is currently trapped on a section of the road, with fallen trees on either side of the vehicle. Local diversions are in place, however, many of the secondary roads are also blocked.
