The annual Gordon Castle Highland Games and Country Fair returns for a fourth year this weekend – this time with a gourmet twist.
The best of Scottish produce will be celebrated in a new food court at the event on Sunday, which is expected to attract even more than the 8,000 who attended last year.
Visitors to the Gordon Park Estate in Fochabers will be able to taste and buy a selection of edible treats. Chefs will also demonstrate recipes using local produce.
Whisky will be a key theme as the event is taking place as part of EventScotland’s Whisky Month.
Angus Gordon Lennox, owner of Gordon Castle, said: “We are delighted to be launching the food court, with help from EventScotland, that has allowed us to bring a real gourmet element to the event.”
This year’s gathering is being held under the banner of Homecoming Scotland 2014, which is also promoting events such as the Ryder Cup and the Commonwealth Games.
New attractions added to the bill include Highland ponies and a gun dog display. The Quack Commandos, a team of sheepdogs that guide a flock of ducks around an obstacle course, will also be putting in a special appearance.
Tickets can be bought on the day or online at www.gordoncastlehighlandgames.co.uk/buy-tickets/
