A couple from Moray can start planning the perfect wedding after winning£1,000,000 in a National Lottery game.
Offshore worker Michael Innes, 29, and fiancée Megan Fulton, 25, are celebrating after Michael scooped £1,000,000 while playing the online MONOPOLY Millionaire game.
Celebrating the win in style at Elgin’s Mansion House Hotel earlier today, Michael said: “I could not believe it when I saw we had won the £1,000,000 prize and this is fantastic as it allows us to have the wedding we want rather than the wedding we would have had to settle for.
“We live in my mum and dad’s house in Buckie while they are based in Tenerife. The win will also give us the opportunity to look for a house of our own and start married life in an entirely new situation.
“Megan is a student nurse with exams next week, so hopefully she will be able to focus on those after we get used to what the win will mean for us and the family.
“I have spoken to my mum and dad today by phone and they too are absolutely thrilled with the news.”
Michael works with offshore catering contractor Sodexo and was waiting to hear about his next assignment offshore when he found out about the win.
“The last job I had was on Shell’s Curlew floating production storage and offtake vessel and while we are already thinking of the wedding and a new home, we want to play the rest by ear at the moment before taking any other bigger decisions,” he added.
The MONOPOLY Millionaire Instant Win game is one of the popular Instant Wins offered by The National Lottery on its website. With four games to play there are 15 chances to win in this online take on a classic game.
