A trumpeter who has played alongside some of the world’s best-known music acts will join a Moray brass band in concert this weekend.
Australian musician Greg Spence will take to the stage at Elgin’s St Giles Church on Saturday alongside youth band Moray Concert Brass.
In addition to performing alongside the likes of Shirley Bassey and Olivia Newton-John, Mr Spence has been lead trumpet for the Australian version of Strictly Come Dancing – Dancing With The Stars – for the past 12 years.
Glenn Munro, musical director of Moray Concert Brass, said: “We have been very fortunate that Mr Spence has been able to fit us into his hectic schedule.
“Not only does this concert give local people the opportunity to hear world-class music on their doorstep, but it also provides our up and coming musicians with the opportunity to work and play with someone considered to be one of the best brass teachers around.”
The concert will include classic tunes like Sugar Blues and Birdland and family favourites Blame it on the Boogie and Let It Go from the Disney film Frozen. The concert will begin at 7.30pm.
