A fisherman has died after after being swept away while fishing on the River Spey.
Police and fire crews were joined by Coastguard search teams and the Stornoway Coastguard helicopter to search for the 68-year-old who was reported missing in the river earlier today.
The search crews discovered the pensioner in the Knockando area of the river and immediately airlifted him to Raigmore Hospital, however, he died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
A police spokesman confirmed: “Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances, which are not suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
