Five men arrested after eight-hour Buckie stand-off

Police today engaged in a tense stand-off with a group of men who had allegedly barricaded themselves in a Moray property.

The situation began at 5.30am when officers were called to reports of a disturbance on Wallace Avenue in Buckie.

A stretch of the street remained closed off throughout the morning and afternoon.

Dozens of residents gathered at the scene to observe the drama, which ended with the arrest of a group of men.
