Emergency services were alerted to the collision – between a grey Honda CRV and a white Audi A3 – on Main Street, New Elgin, at about 12.15pm. One car overturned and landed on its roof, before skidding into a wall as a result of the accident. Police, ambulance and fire and rescue crews were all called to the crash site. One appliance from Elgin, with six firefighters on board, were needed to make the scene safe. A police spokesman described the motorists as the “walking wounded”. However, an ambulance spokesman later confirmed a woman was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, in a “stable” condition. The road was closed for more than an hour while the vehicles were removed but is now clear.
