A Moray cyclist who suffered severe head injuries in a crash on a busy roundabout on Tuesday morning remains in hospital.
The incident happened on a heavily-used stretch of the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road through Elgin shortly after 10am, directly in front of Dr Gray’s Hospital, where the injured man continues to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cyclist collided with a black Vauxhall Astra with such force that he crashed into and cracked the vehicle’s windscreen.
Following the incident, a stretch of the A96 was closed and remained shut for four hours while crash scene investigators examined the site.
A police spokeswoman said this afternoon: “The cyclist remains in hospital.
“No charges have been pressed to date, but inquiries are ongoing.”
