Workers at a north-east distillery have designed and created a Christmas tree – using spare whisky barrels.
The team at The Glen Moray Distillery in Elgin put their empties to good use after being inspired by other distilleries.
The innovative tree, which has been decorated with colourful Christmas lights, has proved very popular with visitors and also on social media.
Graham Coull, distillery manager, said he hadn’t anticipated the interest which the unique work would generate.
He added: “We’ve had lots of people come along and see it and lots of people have shared it on social media.
“I think, on one page, it has been liked more than 3,000 times.”
The firm usually has a Christmas tree on display at their visitor centre, but this particular tree takes pride of place.
Mr Coull added: “Our traditional tree is usually about seven or eight metres high, but this is on a different scale entirely.
“It will definitely be up again next year as the guys want to make it bigger and better [in 2016].
“The team is really proud of it and it has brought everyone together as they got involved in the planning and the designing.”
On Thursday night, the distillery raised more than £300 for Moray children’s charity Keane’s Stars.
Funds were collected at a late-night opening where guests were treated to mulled wine and mince pies.
The Glen Moray Male Choir also treated the crowd to a half-hour set of Christmas songs.
Mr Coull said: “It just allowed people to come down and have a look.
“We collected money at collection points and I’d like to thank the public for their support.
