A search operation involving police officers and the coastguard has been launched in Rothes for a 77-year-old woman reported missing earlier today.
Rosemary Laing was last seen yesterday evening and is described as being 5ft 3in tall, with a slim build and short white hair.
She wears glasses and is believed to be wearing a knee length black jacket and trousers.
Officers are using search dogs as part of their effort.
A police spokesman said there was concern for her welfare.
He said: “At this point we do require members of the public to assist with police searches however we would ask that residents in the Rothes and wider area check their own sheds, garages or outhouses.
“Officers are concerned for Rosemary’s welfare and so anyone who has information that could assist with tracing Rosemary is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101 or 999 in an emergency.”
