A pop-up shop has opened in Lossiemouth aiming to broaden the horizons of children in Sierra Leone.
Lansana Bangura is collecting goods with his wife Moira to send back to his African hometown.
After packing 12 pallets last year the couple have set their sights on filling a 40-foot shipping container this time.
Mr Bangura said: “We seem to be getting stock in every day at the moment. We’re accepting practically everything.
“It’s the same project that we did before. You can’t do these things for only one year. It has to be for a lifetime if you really want it to continue.
“Education is the big problem at the moment. I got a phone call from there and the problem getting a power supply.
“We could get a generator but they cost a lot of money for fuel and to maintain so we want to get solar panels.”
Mr Bangura’s Mateiti Agricultural Development Trust is accepting donations of white goods like fridges and cookers to contribute to the funds.
The Garmouth resident will then travel to Sierra Leone to make sure the donations from kind-hearted Moray residents go to the right place.
He said: “This time round we’re taking the white goods to give us the funds, we don’t want to take money.
“We want to make sure they are going to be used for the school and whatever is left over can be handed out.
“It’s very important I go too so I know the right people are getting the donations.”
The pop-up shop is open on Queen Street in Lossiemouth until Friday April 29 for donations.
