The Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival has appointed two new board members.
Linda Mellis, who has 43 years of experience in the industry at Diageo, joins as a director.
Gill Reid, who is visitor centre manager at Speyside Cooperage Visitor Centre, has also been appointed to the same post.
This year’s festival begins on Thursday with five days of whisky, music and fun planned across Speyside.
Chairman James Campbell said: “The festival aims to marry the opportunity to appreciate and learn more about our local whisky industry with a first-class visitor experience.
“Both Linda and Gill will be instrumental in helping to guide us as we move forward and grow the festival in future years.”
Mrs Mellis has been a supporter of the festival since it began 17 years ago, and in 2015 she was honoured as ambassador of the year.
More than 500 events are planned for this year’s festival, including distillery tours, outdoor activities and comedy.
