A Moray event is hitting the right note as it expands to keep up with demand.
Two new competitions are being added to the Keith Festival to accommodate all the talented musicians in the area.
Another piano section for those over 13 has been introduced, as well as an under 12 freestyle section.
Keith Festival chairwoman Kathleen Anderson said: “It’s wonderful that we have been getting such a great number of entries over the past few years that we can introduce extra competitions.
“This shows how healthy traditional music is in the north east of Scotland.
“We are very lucky to have such a great amount of entries from young people from Keith and the surrounding areas.
“The festival gives a great platform for these young people to perform and we have seen many come through the ranks to become wonderful musicians and singers.”
The winner from the bothy ballad event will be invited to compete at the Champion of Champions tournament in Elgin in February.
Past competitors from the festival are due to be in the audience at this year’s event to see the next generation of talent.
Competitors will show off their talents in the town next month in fiddle, accordion, poetry and singing categories.
The 41st Keith Festival runs from June 10-12. Tickets are available from the Mither Tongue, Mid Street, Keith. Competitions are free to enter.
