A powerful exhibition, highlighting the story of refugees beginning their lives in Scotland, opens in Elgin next week.
The Red Cross gallery features heart-wrenching images of families from Syria, Iran and Sri Lanka, who were forced to flee their homes.
Photographer Conor Ashleigh spent two months getting to know the refugees to record some of the most candid moments in their lives.
He said: “Through this project, I have gained an understanding of the difficulties that refugee families face when starting life again.
“When I reflect on the friendships I’ve forged and the stories that have been shared with me, I can only hope my photos do justice to the wonderful privilege I’ve had.”
The Red Cross-commissioned gallery supports the charity’s call to the Scottish and UK Governments to make it easier for families, who have been torn asunder, to be reunited.
The “Starting Again….A New Life in Scotland” exhibition is touring the country and opens at Elgin Library on Monday until Saturday, June 11.
Phil Arnold, the Red Cross’s refugee services manager in Scotland, said: “We believe families belong together and know that forced separation can have devastating consequences for people in an already traumatic situation.
“There is immense joy and relief for families who are brought together again, but it is not the end of the story.”
