A new Moray youth theatre project is aiming to help teenagers in the region to reach their full potential.
Eden Court Creative is running workshops in Elgin aimed at 14 to 18-year-olds interested in forging a career in performing arts.
Workshops are being run weekly to develop new productions by teenagers while experimenting with different ideas.
Participants will be given the chance to show off their talent on a wider stage at the National Festival of Youth Theatre in Glenrothes in July.
Graeme Roger, Eden Court’s Creative’s Cashback for Creativity Coordinator, wants to provide new opportunities for teenagers in Moray.
He said: “This is an exciting chance to get involved with the Eden Court Creative team, we’re looking to develop opportunities for young people in the area to make links with our wider creative network.
“We want to inspire and enthuse a new generation of theatre makers and we hope this project is just the first step.”
Eden Court is eager to see new talent being given the chance to shine with no experience in.
The project has been funded by the Scottish Government’s Cashback for Communities scheme, which has seen money recovered from criminals put back into arts and music.
The first session of the workshops is on Thursday at 6.30pm in Elgin High School’s drama studio. Anyone who interested should contact Lucy McGlennon by phoning 01463 239841.
