An opera company is renewing its love affair with a Moray town as they prepare to take to the stage there for the sixth time.
Trips to the coast at Lossiemouth have become the highlight for Glasgow-based Opera Bohemia’s tours across the country.
Despite the relatively small capacity of the town hall the company relish the intimate surroundings the building allows them to create.
Co-founder Alistair Digges explained the coastal town was the group’s favourite destination to perform.
He said: “There’s something special about Lossiemouth.
“The cast really enjoy performing at the town hall and we always plan a day off in the tour when we’re in Lossie so everyone can enjoy the beautiful beaches and the warm reception we receive in the town.
“The locals really get behind the company and help to spread the work about the show. The atmosphere in the town hall on performance day is always very special and we enjoy the after show celebrations at the Stotfield Hotel.”
The Lossiemouth audience will be treated to one of the most popular operas in the world La Traviate. The company has built up a special relationship with the region and has also performed in Buckie in the past.
Opera Bohemia is performing at the town hall in Lossiemouth on Wednesday, July 13. Tickets cost £15, concessions £12, under 16s £6.
