A man and woman have been found dead following a suspected murder-suicide at the home of £10million ‘Lotto lout’ Mickey Carroll’s uncle.
Officers discovered the body of a man in the front garden of the house in Magdalen, Norfolk, while the body of a woman was found inside.
Initial reports suggested that the bodies were those of Carroll’s aunt and uncle, Kelly and Stephen Muncaster but Mrs Muncaster is now known not to be involved.
Mickey Carroll, who won almost £10m on the lottery in 2002 before squandering it all and moving to Elgin, said family members told him about what had happened.
He told the Sun: “They’ve got in touch with Kelly and she’s fine.
“It’s sad news, but I’ve not spoken to Kelly or him since 2005.
“No one knows why he did it except him.”
Carroll used to live with his aunt Kelly and uncle Stephen before he won £10million on the National Lottery in 2002 and then built them the £400,000 home.
Stephen later divorced from Kelly in 2003 and then moved to the house in Norfolk with his new partner.
The property remained sealed off for most of the day while forensic examinations continue to take place.
Detectives from the Joint Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team have now launched an investigation into the deaths.
