Fears are growing for a Moray woman who has been missing from her home for three weeks.
Police have released CCTV images of Amanda Tomison, who left her flat in Cullen near the start of this month, as efforts to track her down intensified yesterday.
It has emerged that she left her mobile phone in Fochabers about a fortnight ago.
Mrs Tomison’s baffled neighbours said they were becoming increasingly worried about her wellbeing.
Officers looking into her disappearance believe she was most recently seen in Glasgow last week.
They say the 47-year-old is an enthusiastic countryside walker who is known to embark on bus journeys across Scotland.
It is believed she was spotted in the centre of Glasgow on Thursday.
Police believe Mrs Tomison got off a coach at the Buchanan Street bus station, before heading along Killermont Street between 10am and 11am.
And they have published footage captured by CCTV cameras at Aberdeen train station on that day, which they reckon depict Mrs Tomison.
Mrs Tomison has been missing from her Cullen home since Wednesday, July 6.
Yesterday, one of her neighbours described Mrs Tomison as a “nice lady”, whose disappearance had caused the quiet coastal community a deal of worry.
He said: “Everybody knows everybody here, but Mrs Tomison is generally thought of as a quiet woman who keeps herself to herself.
“This is very strange, especially as we know she was nearby in Fochabers but didn’t come home then.
“You don’t think your neighbour is just going to vanish, we all hope she gets safely back home soon.”
Another man said he hoped Mrs Tomison would now get in touch with the police to advise them of her whereabouts.
He added that she was well known in the area for embarking on long expeditions, and was often spotted carrying a backpack.
Police believe she has recently visited Orkney, Shetland, Gourock, Pitlochry and Aviemore and it is understood that she was in Fochabers about a fortnight ago – where she is believed to have accidentally left her phone outside a shop.
Mrs Tomison is described as being slim, about 5ft 2in tall and has shoulder length dark brown hair.
She wears glasses, has a dark complexion and speaks with a Scottish accent.
Mrs Tomison often walks with a stick, and police say she may be carrying a suitcase and tent.
Anyone who has seen Mrs Tomison since the beginning of July should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
