Police are believed to be investigating an assault “between a man and a woman” that took place in Elgin last night.
Officers descended on Murray Street at about 10pm last night amid reports of an incident that took place on the pavement outside a supported accommodation complex.
Forensic experts scoured the scene this morning, taking dozens of photographs and bagging up samples from the ground for analysis.
One neighbour on Meadow Crescent said that officers visited her home at midnight to ask about an incident “between a man and a woman”.
Another said that there was an “eerie feeling” on the street this morning.
