A card skimming device has been found on an Aberdeenshire cash machine.
Police are investigating after the device was found on an ATM on Turriff’s Main Street over the weekend.
People withdrawing cash in the area have been urged to be on the look out for similar devices when using ATMs.
A police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or loitering around any of the ATMs within Turriff to contact us.
“There are some simple steps you can take to protect yourself from becoming a victim of skimming devices, such as covering your pin number and checking that the ATM has not been tampered with or has any unusual attachment’s on it prior to using it.
“If you believe you have become a victim of a card skimming device, you should report it to your bank in the first instance.”
