Bomb disposal experts rushed to a Fraserburgh supermarket this evening to carry out a controlled explosion on a suspicious package.
Nearby resident were evacuated from their homes and Buchan Road was closed from 11.45am as police made the area around the device at the Co-operative supermarket safe.
The Army’s bomb squad took just over an hour to deal with the suspicious package.
Residents have now been allowed to return to their homes, although the supermarket remains shut.
Speaking at the scene police sergeant Garry Riddoch said the package was small and could not be seen from the roadside.
