Police have named the man who died in yesterday’s incident at Fraserburgh Harbour as William Ironside.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 2pm for concern for “a number of men” who had fallen ill on board the Sunbeam vessel.
Mr Ironside, 52, was pronounced dead a short time later.
Four other men were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment but have since been released from hospital.
Officers from the Marine Accident Investigation Branch have been seen boarding the board today to begin an investigation.
Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “Our thoughts continue to be with Mr Ironside’s family at what will be a very difficult and sad time.”
He added: “We are continuing to carry out enquiries in conjunction with other independent agencies including the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and also the Marine Accident Investigation Branch.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course as is the case with all sudden deaths.”
