Police have launched an investigation after a woman was found stabbed to death in Dundee yesterday.
Police were called to Ballantrae Terrace in the Douglas area of the city at 3pm today following reports of a disturbance.
The woman was named locally as Marie Low.
Police confirmed the woman was 36.
One woman, who did not want to be named, said:
“I heard all the noise and came out to see what was going on.
“She had been stabbed and the paramedics were trying to help her then started shouting because they needed to get her out of there.”
Detective Inspector David Pinkney said: “We can confirm that unfortunately a 36 year old woman has died following a disturbance in the Ballantrae Terrace area of Dundee this afternoon.
“This is a serious incident and we are conducting a thorough investigation in order to establish the full circumstances leading up to it.
“There will be a continued police presence in the area as we continue to conduct the necessary enquiries into this matter and I would like to thank the community for their support so far and as we progress with the investigation.
