A major stretch of the A9 could remain closed for the “rest of the day” after a serious van and lorry crash.
The accident happened at around 7.45am this morning near Blair Atholl on the Perth to Inverness road.
A spokesperson for BEAR Scotland said: “BEAR are currently working to arrange diversions for lorries while other vehicles are being diverted via the B8079.”
Police Scotland confirmed the road could remain closed for the remained of the day and said officers are dealing with a “serious road traffic collision.”
The Traffic Scotland website states the road is closed in both directions and is advising motorists to use an “alternative route.”
“The A9 is closed in both directions near Blair Atholl due to a road traffic accident,” the website states.
“Motorists should expect delays.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue confirmed they are currently in attendance and have units from Perth, Pitlochry, Dunkeld and Kirkmichael at the scene.
