Leading football clubs in the north-east and north of Scotland have insisted they have not been made aware of any instances of sexual abuse taking place under their watch.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle released a statement claiming staff were co-operating with the police to establish a procedure in the event of any referral being brought forward.
A club spokesman said: “Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC operates a strict child protection policy, which all necessary staff and coaches are aware of.
“They have also been briefed on the procedures for raising any historical reports or referrals brought to their attention.
“This is being done in full cooperation with the SFA, the NSPCC and Police Scotland in regards to their wider investigations.
“As far we can ascertain, no such complaints have been lodged involving our club.”
Aberdeen FC and Ross County also said there was no indication any of their staff members had taken part in the sexual abuse of players.
