A large number of police are in the Penilee area after reports of an incident near St George’s RC Primary just as the school bell went this morning. Police Scotland confirmed a gun was fired, but that the children are in no danger and additional police officers are in the area. Chief Inspector Simon Jeacocke urged anyone who was in the area or saw anything to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. He added that there remains a large police presence near the school but they believe that there is no further threat or risk to anyone in the area.
