Donald Trump will take an oath using a bible given to him by his Scottish mother as he is sworn is as the 45th President of the United States later today.
The current president-elect was gifted the bible in 1955 by his mother Mary Anne MacLeod after he graduated from Sunday school.
The former Lewis resident emigrated to the United States in 1920.
The book previously appeared in a viral campaign video during Mr Trump’s election campaign, where he thanked Evangelical Christians for supporting his bid for the White House.
“My mother gave me this Bible. This very Bible many year ago,” he said. “It is very special to me.”
During the ceremony, set to take place at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington at around 5pm GMT, Mr Trump will also hold a Bible that once belonged to Abraham Lincoln.
