Man reunites with nurse 66 years after she cared for him as a baby at Scottish hospital

A former nurse has been reunited with a patient she cared for as a baby – a staggering 66 year later.

Margaret McInroy, 91, worked on the children’s ward at a hospital in Dundee during the 1950s where she cared for Bill Douglas for four months.

Bill, who had an undiagnosed illness, decided after almost seven decades to track down his saviour Margaret who nursed him back to health from a mysterious illness.

It took him a remarkable eight hours to track down the then known ‘Sister Ansell’ after finding an old newspaper clipping about her wedding day at his parents’ home.
