Police, coastguard and lifeboat teams have resumed a major search for an 18-year-old man who was reported missing close to sea cliffs yesterday afternoon.
The multi-agency operation was launched at 1pm yesterday after the young man was reported to have fallen from a cliff near Arbroath.
The search was stood down yesterday night for the safety of those involved in the rescue, but has resumed this morning.
Chief Inspector David McIntosh said: “Extensive searches along the coastline and the water have already been carried out today and our main priority remains locating the missing teenager.
“We are liaising closely with his family and are offering them support at this difficult time.
“Anyone with information at all is asked to contact police on 101.”
