Police have named a man killed in a serious road accident on the outskirts of Brechin.
Frazer Clark, 28, died after his car left the A935 Montrose road at around 3pm on Monday.
It is understood the BMW, which struck a tree near the A935’s junction with Drumachlie Loan, was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Mr Clark, who was described as a “gentle giant” in tributes from family and friends, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His brother, Richard Deane, said relatives living near the crash site rushed there after they learned of the accident.
Speaking to The Courier, he also said his 63-year-old mother had been left “heartbroken” as it emerged Mr Clark is the third brother to be lost in tragic circumstances.
He added: “She has lost three sons, it’s terrible and we just don’t know what to do, there’s nothing anyone can do for her.”
The road remained closed for several hours and police have appealed for members of the public to come forward as they continue to piece together the circumstances of the crash.
A spokesman for the force said: “Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are ongoing and Tayside Division would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Tayside Division on 101.
“As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
