Shannon Soutar appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court yesterday in connection with an incident at a flat in St Vigeans Road, Arbroath on April 28. The child was initially rushed to the Royal Sick Kids hospital in Edinburgh in a “critical” condition with serious injuries. It is understood she is now in a “stable” condition in Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital. Yesterday the 22-year-old appeared in private at Forfar Sheriff Court. She faced a single charge of attempting to murder the girl by assaulting her to her severe injury, permanent impairment and danger of life. Soutar made no plea during the brief hearing and the case was continued for further examintion. She was released on bail.
