Extinction Rebellion have staged an occupation of an oil and gas rig in Dundee Harbour.
Three members of the activist group have scaled the Valaris 122 rig to stop it from departing the harbour to carry out work in the North Sea.
Extinction Rebellion said the move is part of 10 days of “solidarity actions”.
The group added they are prepared to “stay up there for as long as possible to stop the rig leaving the harbour.”
According to Valaris’ latest fleet status report, the 122 rig is scheduled to carry out a contract for Shell in the UK North Sea beginning on January 20.
The two-well deal, which includes seven one-well extension options, is due to end on October 20.
