A charity is challenging animal lovers to test their brain power by taking part in a national fundraiser.
The Great Scottish Pub Quiz, organised by the Scottish SPCA, will take place in venues across the country this month and the charity is urging people to get involved.
Among the 63 pubs signed up to take Balta Light, on Unst in Shetland.
Animal rescue and rehoming superintendent Sharon Comrie said: “We are absolutely delighted 63 pubs are involved in The Great Scottish Pub Quiz.
“We’ve just signed up Balta Light, the most northerly pub in Scotland which is on Unst in the Shetland islands. We are delighted to have such a well-recognised landmark on board.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to have fun and raise funds – we want quiz connoisserus and novices, there’s something for everyone. The questions won’t all be about animals, there will be multiple rounds and topics to put brain powers to the test.”
All money raised will go towards helping the charity rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals of all kinds across Scotland.
It costs about £44,000 a day to carry out the work.
The Great Scottish Pub Quiz is running for the whole of February. To find your nearest participating venue, visit the Scottish SPCA’s website.
