Musicians from across the globe have come together to perform a Scottish hit.

Award-winning orchestra the Nevis Ensemble launched their new project ‘the Living Room Ensemble’ in March.

It brings together musicians and music lovers in a series of online performances.

Performers from across the world took part

For the first performance, people were asked to submit videos of themselves playing instruments, banging pots and pans, singing along or dancing to I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers.

A total of 160 musicians entered clips from 15 countries, including Australia, Kenya and Nicaragua.

The finished product is now on YouTube, and has brought cheer to those involved as well as those watching.

The arrangement was done by Gordon Cree, audio by Duncan Sutherland and video by Mauro Silva.

Speaking to the Press and Journal last month, Nevis Ensemble founder, Jamie Munn, said: “Our tagline is music for everyone, everywhere.

“Now that everywhere just happens to be people’s living rooms.”

The next challenge for the Living Room Ensemble is to get a musician from every country in the world for an online performance of Auld Lang Syne.
