The star of a hit Scottish film has been charged with a sex attack on a woman.
Sunshine on Leith actor Kevin Guthrie allegedly committed the offence at a flat in Glasgow’s Kelvindale.
Prosecutors allege the 32-year-old struck on “various occasions” between September 30 and October 1 2017.
The indictment lists a number of accusations including claims the pair watched pornography together, that Guthrie put his tongue in her mouth and also bit her breast.
Guthrie – who also featured in the Fantastic Beasts films and most recently Netflix drama The English Game – denies the sexual assault charge.
He was in the dock today at Glasgow Sheriff Court.
Guthrie was initially not at the hearing after his lawyer John Kilcoyne said the actor was in a “Covid bubble” due to his job.
But, Sheriff Martin Jones QC ordered Guthrie to appear and, 30 minutes later, he was at court.
Mr Kilcoyne said: “I called him, and he said he was in Glasgow.
“He didn’t advise me of that in a call on Friday.
“He said his employers advised him to keep his bubble as small as possible.”
A trial before a jury was set for January next year.
But, Mr Kilcoyne said Guthrie may not be able to make it due to “work commitments”.
Guthrie, of the city’s Yorkhill, had his bail continued meantime.
