Scarlet, a pudu fawn, needed around the clock bottle feeds but is now said to be doing well. Keeper Liah Etemad, said it had been “touch and go for a while” but that zoo staff had worked hard to nourish and nurture the tiny fawn. Scarlet was reintroduced to her father Normski when she was four weeks old and the pair have bonded well. Southern pudus are normally found in southern Chile and south-western Argentina and are the world’s smallest deer.
