Passengers travelling between Glasgow and Edinburgh have been warned to expect delays following a train fire.
The incident happened near Lenzie just before 5pm.
The train is currently stationed at Lenzie station, where fire fighters attended to extinguish the blaze.
It is understood no one has been injured.
Network Rail Scotland have warned people travelling from Glasgow Queen Street station to Edinburgh, and all stops in between, to expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
“Following a broken down train near Lenzie, passengers may be delayed by up to 20 minutes,” a spokesman said.
“We apologise for any disruption.”
The route is being heavily used by people travelling to Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games.
