The man was one of two people taken to hospital yesterday after the incident near Kingarth, on the Isle of Bute. He died this morning in the Southern General Hospital in Glasgow after suffering serious injuries. The second man, aged 52, was airlifted to the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley, and remains in a critical condition. The accident took place near the airstrip at Kingarth at around 3.45pm. Police inquiries into the accident are continuing and the Air Accident Investigation Branch is also involved. Officers have appealed for witnesses to contact them, particularly anyone with video or mobile phone footage of the aircraft. Police can be contacted on 101.
