Police stopped people drinking on the supporter buses
Police carried out a large-scale booze-ban on supporters making the trip from the north-east to last night’s Scotland-England match in Glasgow.
Patrols were stationed by the side of the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road near Stonehaven and further south in the hours leading up to kick-off, in an effort to clamp-down on drink-fuelled fans.
Spot-checks were carried out on coaches to ensure there were no fans on-board drinking ahead of the event.
Police Scotland would not be drawn on the specific nature of the patrols but confirmed a large-scale operation was in place.
