The Met Office has issued a weather warning for snow and ice across Scotland tonight.
Forecasters have issued a ‘be aware’ warning for the entire country with the exception of the Western Isles.
The warning comes on the busiest day of the year for shoppers – with forecasters indicating that the first wave of snow could hit before shops’ closing times.
It is expected that temperatures will drop quickly tonight – with snow showers expected on lower ground and very heavy snow fall on higher ground.
The band of weather will move south-east overnight as the showers become more sparse.
Drivers tomorrow morning have been warning to expect very icy conditions on the road in the morning, particularly where some snow has fallen overnight.
