People who lost electric power for 48 consecutive hours or more during the January storms can claim compensation payment from SSE.
Highlands and Islands Labour MSP, Rhoda Grant is encouraging customers who suffered an outage between January 9 and 12 due to the exceptional weather conditions to make a claim.
She said: “SSE and the hundreds of linemen who were out working in tough conditions through the cold and rain to restore power to peoples homes did a great job, with the majority of homes who had lost power being reconnected as quickly as possible.
“Due to the extreme nature of the weather and the hurricane force winds that battered the north last month it did mean that a small number of homes may have gone without a power supply for a consecutive 48 hour period, and those affected should use their right to claim for a compensation payment.”
SSE say the quickest way to apply for compensation payment is to complete an online form, or email feedback@sse.com providing your name, full address, contact details and the length of time you were without power. If customers are unable to claim online they can contact SSE on 0800 0727253.
