Rail and road travellers suffered a morning of misery today as motorists battled with snow and ice and train services were again hit by problems, however, on the other hand, the snow also produced some just adorable pictures.
Robins, dogs and squirrels seemed to have no problem with the winter weather as they took to the snow to play and pose for pictures.
Parts of Britain woke up to a blanket of snow this morning, as temperatures reached a spine-chilling -11C (12.2F).
Weather warnings for snow and ice remain in place for much of the UK, with commuters warned of icy conditions.
While snow fell in large parts of the country, the coldest weather was reserved for areas which saw less snow and clearer skies.
The village of Dalwhinnie in the Highlands endured -11C, and it was just a few degrees warmer in Katesbridge County Down where the mercury plummeted to -8C (17.6F).
