The tragic story of the dog abandoned at a Scottish train station was today given a happy ending.
Kai the Shar-Pei hit the headlines last month when he was left a Ayr train station with a suitcase of his possessions.
Interest in Kai’s story spread across the UK with hundreds of would-be owners offering to take care of the adorable pet.
However, today he Kai has found a new home after being adopted by 52-year-old engineer Ian Russell.
Ian, from Newton Mearns, Glasgow, suffered his own dog heartbreak shortly before Christmas when his Dalmatian died but the SPCA has now named Ian as Kai’s proud new owner.
