The man killed when his gritter overturned on the A90 has been named as David Keith from Dundee.
Mr Keith, 29, was driving on the A90 at the Bogindollo junction between Forfar and Brechin when he crashed at 6.25am.
Heavy snow and icy conditions disrupted travel across Scotland yesterday, with the Met Office issuing a yellow weather warning for north and north-eastern areas of the country.
A police statement said: “Mr Keith’s family are understandably upset by their sudden loss and have said that he will be greatly missed.
“They do not wish to make any further comments and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
“Enquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are on-going and Tayside Division would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their enquiries to contact Tayside Division on 101.”
