The accident happened on the A92 near Glenrothes, Fife at around 5.40pm. Police closed the road for several hours as ambulance crews tried to help the victim at the scene, before taking him to hospital. However, sadly, this morning police confirmed the boy, who is from Glenrothes, died of his injuries during the night. Police are investigating to try and establish the circumstances of surrounding the collision.
