Our Peterhead reporter Josh King has been assigned the ambitious, yet dreamy, task of driving along some of Scotland’s most scenic routes.
Armed with the latest VW California Camper Van, Josh began his journey on Monday in Aberdeen before travelling nearly 300 miles to Thurso, the most northernly town in the Highland’s.

Upon finishing the challenge he will have clocked up around 1,500 miles as he makes his way down to Dunfermline before hitting the brakes for the final time in Ellon.
During his well deserved pit stops Josh has been delving into The Press and Journal, so he doesn’t miss out on all the latest news from the north.

Josh is now on day three of his journey, which will have him drive from Skye to Fort William – a total stretch of 202 miles.
From Fort William he will head south to the bonnie banks of Loch Lommond followed by a trip to Dumfries and Dumfermine before finishing up in Ellon on Sunday.
Along the way, Josh has seen some of the north’s most picturesque locations including the well-known Applecross road and Eilean Donan Castle.
