Firefighters had to deal with a different kind of heat recently, when a man got himself stuck in a Dundee tanning booth.
The incident was just one of the weird and wonderful call-outs the city’s Scottish Fire and Rescue crews have dealt with in recent months.
Some of the other ridiculous “rescues” include freeing a lad trapped in a grate, and helping remove rings from someone’s fingers.
As well as this, crews also had to help a pensioner after she got her head trapped in a radiator.
And it’s not just the strange and surreal the service has to deal with – they were also called out 34 TIMES in the same period to help people locked in and out of their homes.
The list of peculiar non-fire emergencies or “emergency special service calls” (ESSCs) have been included in a report to the city’s councillors, which looks at the performance of the fire and rescue service in the past three months.
Well this is embarrassing….. Firecrews rescue Scottish man from tanning booth
