An Aberdeen graduate has been elected the new student president at Scotland’s Rural College.
Alex Robb takes up the post with the students association (SRUCSA) after serving as vice-president last year.
The 22-year-old achieved a first-class honours degree in sustainable environmental management at the SRUC campus at Craibstone, Aberdeen.
The students association was formed following the Scottish Agricultural College’s merger with the Barony, Elmwood and Oatridge Colleges in 2012.
Mr Robb said: “My predecessors worked hard to get the structures right but last year we were able to move on and bring our activities more in line with students associations across Scotland.
“With 2,500 full-time and 5,000 part-time students studying in six campuses that has been a challenge, but now we are ready for more.”
Gary McGillivray, 33, a mature student from the SRUC Ayr campus, will take on the role of vice-president.
